We all want clean air, clean water and open space. But it takes independent research and tough-minded advocacy to win concrete results for our environment, especially when powerful interests stand in the way of environmental progress. That's the idea behind Environment New Hampshire. We focus exclusively on protecting New Hampshire's air, water and open spaces. We speak out and take action at the local, state and national levels to improve the quality of our environment and our lives.

Building a greener future.

		Advancing clean energy Thanks to legislation that our advocates recently helped pass, nearly one-quarter of New Hampshire’s electricity will come from clean, renewable sources like wind and solar power by 2025.

		Protecting our open spaces Along with other conservation groups, our staff fought for funding of the Land and Community Heritage Investment Program, which will help to protect valuable open space, farmland, forests and historic buildings.

		Saving Lake Sunapee Less pollution will enter Lake Sunapee thanks to our work with the town of New London, which recently passed landmark regulations to ensure that new development creates no new stormwater runoff into the lake.
