Issue during Election 2008 and Beyond! Thanks to broad public support and hard work by
environmental and public health groups, But the last eight years have put the environment in
jeopardy. Key federal protections have been rolled back, and the failure of decision-makers
in The vast majority of Americans want our leaders to take on global warming, build the nation’s renewable energy capacity, secure clean air and clean water, and protect the nation’s unspoiled places. We need to make sure that the current and future Presidents and Congress hear that message. Environment Environment Environment Qualifications: Environment All staff need to be available to start work no later than Aug. 4 and be able to commit through the November 2008 election [and ideally beyond]. If you have the skills we’re looking for, we’ll give you the training you need to succeed. Training: Your job begins with a three-day classroom training Aug. 4-6 followed by
a six-week field training in a canvass office of Environment New Hampshire or another
similar organization. You’ll learn the systems required to run an effective issue
campaign, motivate volunteers and build skills by talking with voters. In
mid-September, once you’ve completed your field training, you’ll attend a
national training and receive your fall placement. Responsibilities include: ·
Recruiting and training volunteers previously
identified by our canvassers to participate in publicity events and grassroots
public education. ·
Organizing high-visibility issue campaign events
around global warming, clean energy and other key environmental issues. ·
Bird-dogging candidates at events to press public
officials and candidates to clarify and strengthen their positions. ·
Educating the public on environmental records of
public officials and candidates. Salary & Benefits: Commensurate with relevant experience. Entry-level staff will earn $23,750 annual salary equivalent. Benefits include eligibility to enroll in our group health plan. Opportunities are available beyond the election to continue to do direct advocacy (lobbying), field organizing, policy development and more.
