Preserving New Hampshire

New Hampshire's beautiful parks, forests, farmlands and coastline are a large part of what makes our state special. The towering Presidentials and White Mountains, the abundant state parks like Pisgah and Pawtuckaway, and the dozens of local farms, orchards, rolling hills and small towns across the state all define New Hampshire. Our state's unique rural landscape is part of what brings in visitors from around the world and keeps residents here for generation after gneration.

Unfortunately, as the fastest growing state in New England, New Hampshire is experiencing intense development pressure that is swallowing up our precious open space. Strip malls, crowded highways and big box stores are quickly replacing our farms, woodlots and open space across the state. Unplanned growth cuts our special places into smaller and smaller pieces, limits state residents' access to recreational lands and destroys critical wetlands for clean water.

Environment New Hampshire is working to protect New Hampshire's last remaining wild places, critical wildlife habitat, recreational havens and treasured public parks, to ensure these special places are still here for generations to come.
