Protect the White Mountains

The White Mountains represent the best of New Hampshire’s natural heritage. From hiking along the Appalachian Trail to taking in the breathtaking views, White Mountain National Forest is an outdoor escape for Granite Staters. But the protection of the Mountains and access to their beautiful trails is at risk.

Program

Protect New Hampshire's Lakes

Polluting industries have put our nation's waters in jeopardy by carving loopholes in the Clean Water Act, leaving 6,000 miles of New Hampshire's streams open to pollution. Join our call to restore the law's protection to all of our waters.

Program

Go Solar, New Hampshire

More and more Americans are going solar, meeting more of our energy needs in a way that’s clean and local. Unfortunately, dirty energy companies are putting up new roadblocks at every turn. Our research shows that the cities and states with the most solar power aren't the ones with the most sunshine—they're the ones with the best pro-solar policies. That’s why we’re urging New Hampshire's leaders to go big on solar and leave dirty energy behind.

Global Warming Solutions

President Obama has a plan that’s been called “the strongest action ever taken by an American president” to tackle global warming. Our new leaders in Congress have vowed to do everything in their power to stop him. Stand with the president for our health and our future, not the polluters.

Program

Get Off Oil

The environmental costs of our oil dependence are out of control — from the accidents and spills, to smog, to climate change. It's time to set this country on a path to getting off oil for good. We can get there by convincing our leaders to make new investments in fuel-efficient cars, energy efficiency, and a first-class system of public transportation.

Program

Defend New Hampshire's Cornerstone Clean Energy Program

Big utility companies want to repeal New Hampshire’s cornerstone clean energy program. We can show our legislators that a vote against clean energy is a vote against New Hampshire.

Program

Conservation New Hampshire

We must commit to the conservation of New Hampshire’s natural treasures, like the White Mountains. But the state’s largest electric utility company, PSNH, wants to build a massive power line that would cut through White Mountain National Forest. This line, consisting of 1,100 enormous electrical towers, would scar the best of New Hampshire’s wilderness.
